If the write up on this is accurate it does'nt sound to bad.Coming from New England though, we love our technical, Tom Stevens designed courses. If you have never raced one of his courses you need to.
Anyways one suggestion would be to eliminate as much gravel as possible, as it can wreak havoc on wheels especially if you are running lower tire pressure needed for other parts of the course.
Thats it. See ya at the races!

You must write equipment reviews for Bicycling Magazine. This whole post sounds oddly familiar.

I have the honor to say that Badger Prairie is the reason I race(d) 'cross longer than I thought I would -- I was all set to quit the sport, until one particularly nasty, 40-degree, wet race up there way back in aught-5 or so, at which I re-fell in love with it! And let me tell you: it gets COLD there -- did you have wind on the weekend? It's exposed, and with the west face of the park wide open, it can get nasty.

That said, yes -- with any moisture, the ground does soften, and it becomes much more fun to race. It'll be full-on, wide-open racing for sure!

Also, won't they fully fence the course down to the requisite width? I remember the non-fenced course being very wide, but full fencing will accommodate spectators and make the racing that much tighter ...

Great season and fantastic ride by John at States. A great ride well deserved win. I have been racing with John since the mid-90s and he continues to be a good competitor and smooth rider. Congrats on the jersey!
