Big Marsh Chicago

Bonebell & SRAM

Attention All Dirtbags!

The Bonebell and SRAM are combining forces to present a charitable race and informational event geared towards showing you around The Big Marsh Bike Park Project. The event will start with park tours at 10AM (walking) & 11AM (biking) to provide a preview of the plans being drawn out to present Chicago with it’s first UCI-quality park for a variety of off-road cycling disciplines. We will provide background, information, and what you need to know to talk about this incredibly important initiative for Chicago!

Date: Saturday, October 18
Park Previews: 10:00 AM (walking) & 11:00 AM CT (biking)
Race Times: 12:00 PM, 1:00 PM, 2:00 PM CT
Location: 1958 E 116th St, Chicago, IL 60617, Chicago, IL 60617

This is *not* a USA Cycling sanctioned race and will not qualify for Chicago Cross Cup series points or USA Cycling standings!

We highly recommend you come with your pit bike* and fun attitude – there will be racers of all abilities welcome to join ANY of the race categories, meaning, it doesn’t matter what level you are, the course that is being built out will have a little something for everyone. Just because you are a Category 1 racer doesn’t mean you’ll get a podium spot – random prizes and challenges will be awarded at this race! The objective is to come and learn about this important project and get a firsthand preview of what is going to be built for 2015!

Your registration fee will go to cover costs for the amenities that will be provided for the day of the race and any left over is donated to the SRAM Big Marsh Project.

Confirmed Sponsors to date: SRAM, The Bonebell, ABUS, Trader Joe’s, and Lagunitas (thanks to Verdigris-Village CX)

*All off-road bikes welcome: CX, MTB, Fatbikes… no race “categories” so it’s rung what ya brung!
**There are no significant differences between the race categories – just pick a time or race name that suits your fancy!

Registration opens at 12:00PM CT on Wednesday, September 24!
