Cyclocross Clinic

Ladies! Have you wanted to try out cyclocross but weren’t sure where to start? Dismounts, remounts, barrier jumping – complicated? No way! Come to this upcoming clinic being presented by the women of Half Acre Cycling with instruction by local badass racer Holly Klug. It’s being held Saturday, September 8 in beautiful Humboldt Park.

Additional details are on the Facebook event page but please note that you MUST register at BikeReg – and it’s limited to the first 20 to respond so HUP! HUP! HUP!

After honing your newly found mad cx skillz, next steps are to pick your target races and make sure to regularly attend a local practice. Here’s a comprehensive list of local races from our buds at the Chicago Cyclocross Cup. Hope to see you all out on the race course!

Separate Scoring for Womens Cat 3

And for those of you who are not new to cyclocross – surely you have heard that there are changes in scoring this year for the Chicago Cyclocross Cup Women’s 123 race? Sa-weet. Thanks for the great write up, Ellie – and to Jason K and the CCC for improving our race experience!

Ladies Dirt Day #5

And reminder that THIS SATURDAY (aka tomorrow) is the next installment of Ladies Dirt Days, also presented by Half Acre Cycling and Johnny Sprockets, and as organized by Becky Welbes of Pretty. Fast. Becky’s ankle is currently SNAFU’d so local mtb veteran Gina Kenny is stepping up to lead the ride. Thanks Gina!

This event is non-competitive and no-drop. Ride begins at 9AM sharp. Additional details are on the Facebook event page where you can RSVP. Tomorrow’s ride has the added bonus that it will include a pre-ride of the projected race course for the Palos Meltdown presented by CAMBr, which is the following day – Sunday, August 5th. See you at Dirt Days AND at the Meltdown!!!
