For Whom The Bonebell Tolls

Thank You Dirtrag!

It’s nice to see the hometown shop on the web portion from Dirt Rag - thank you Maurice and Karl!

Read Dirt Rag’s write-up of the race and the even more in depth look at the winners of the Championship.

On a note of the HID Card system I squawked about previously - it was a 1st time using this type of system at the 24-9 race in the past 3 years. The system itself isn’t faulty, but the process did get some getting used to. The parameters for the card system could have been better defined for better rider use. The card system required that each rider tag one sensor once to verify that the lap is finished, then tag another sensor again to signify that another lap is starting - the system even detects when there is a ‘mis-scan’. The irony is that if identified that you did misscan, then technically, you did scan and it should’ve registered as succesful. This caused some confusion at the race and a good deal of unecessary backtracing of logged scan events from race officials. I definitely wouldn’t criticize the officials in the least - but the extra explanation on the site before the race, and eliminating pesky mis-scanned messages from the system would definitely alleviate the confusion or frustration from racers at the time when they don’t need to think about such things (especially when an old system was previously experienced at two consecutive national events at the same venue). I think the race officials were quite excellent to help and they had worked out any kinks on timing in a very orderly and professional fashion - no one could have asked for more. They did a great job of keeping results accurate as possible while making them available in real time - not an easy feat in the least! Thank you Kevin Eccles and crew!

We’re full of thank yous!
